It was summer in the Great Wood and life was wonderful: the air was the scent of ripening berries, blooming flowers, and pine needles warmed by the sun. All at once, you wanted to play like wild and lie calmly on the grass, gazing up at the cotton candy clouds floating past in the sky above. It felt as though you found yourself in a soft, cozy, bubble, and that you were rolling along in that bubble from early morning until late at night. The same things happened every year, and yet for the little Teddy Bears it seemed as though never before had the world smelled so nice and never before had there been so much joy on earth. Only the old and wise Teddy Bears would nod their heads and smile meaningfully at one another: this is how summer has been a hundred years before and how it would be a hundred years after.
